I’ve been digging up Niles since I was two years old.

If you traveled back in time to my childhood backyard here in Niles, you’d probably trip over a hole. I didn't dig them for treasure, and I didn't dig them to escape. I dug them because I just really loved digging.

While other kids were watching cartoons, I was glued to the window watching road crews and excavators, dreaming of the day I’d get to operate the "big stuff."

From Mud Pits to Masterpieces I started Salzman Services because I never really grew out of that phase. I just upgraded from a plastic shovel to a Bobcat.​​
​
But there’s a deeper reason, too. My family and I have never been the "center of attention" types. You won't find me grabbing the mic to make a speech or trying to be the star of the show.

I prefer to be the guy building the show.
​
I get my satisfaction from crafting the spaces where you gather. I want to build the patio where you host the family reunion, or the fire pit where you unwind after a long week. I build the backdrop for your memories so I can step back, fade into the background, and know I built something that will last.

When I’m Not on a Machine... I’m probably haunting a local coffee shop in Michiana, chatting with neighbors, or—believe it or not—sitting behind a computer screen.

Fun fact: I built this website myself. (So if there’s a typo, don’t blame the marketing department, blame the guy who usually has dirt under his fingernails).

I’m here to provide the best, most well-built hardscapes possible, with zero corporate fluff.
