Prairie Smoke (Geum triflorum) is a native plant that looks like it came from a Dr. Seuss book. In spring, it has nodding pink flowers. But the real show happens when they go to seed—the seed heads turn into upright, feathery, pinkish-gray plumes that look like puffs of smoke rising from the ground.
